Pacific Life Builds on Legacy of Support for Hoag with Bold $1 Million Gift

Hoag’s Sun Family Campus in Irvine and vision for the future of health care inspired Pacific Life’s support.

For more than 50 years, Pacific Life has been dedicated to advancing health care at Hoag, providing the community with the latest and best in medicine. As a founding philanthropic partner of Hoag Irvine, now named the Sun Family Campus, the company has believed in Hoag’s vision for increased access to care in South Orange County from the very beginning. This legacy of support aligns with Pacific Life’s mission to give back to the communities where its employees live and work and recently inspired a bold $1 million gift from the Pacific Life Foundation to Hoag’s Sun Family Campus expansion.

“At Pacific Life, our focus is providing long-term value for current and future generations. Our customers expect us to be there for them and to keep our promises. In many ways, it’s the same for Hoag, which is another reason to invest in the expanded campus. Hoag isn’t only about meeting the needs of today but also meeting the needs of tomorrow and being there for the community 30 years down the road,” said Tennyson Oyler, Pacific Life’s senior vice president of brand management and corporate affairs and president of the Pacific Life Foundation.

A native of Newport Beach who now lives within a two-minute drive of the Sun Family Campus, and whose three children were all born at Hoag, Tennyson knows personally the significance of having a premier medical provider like Hoag available to Pacific Life employees and the growing community.

“People want to live near a good hospital. This also plays a role in recruitment. We hope this gift inspires other local companies to join us in giving back,” Tennyson explained. Pacific Life’s commitment to seeing Orange County communities and workers thrive made supporting Hoag’s Irvine campus a natural fit.
